Big Citizen of the Year

Jan 01, 2009

January is National Mentoring Month. And in observance, we are celebrating all who contribute to our movement to help our children grow up in America.

This month, we are asking Americans to take time to recognize individuals who are doing their part to change how our children grow up. If you know of such an individual (a child care worker, police officer, teacher, community activist, shop owner, anyone) who is helping children break negative cycles, please submit a 50-100 word write-up telling us why they should be America's Big Citizen of the Year 2009.  We invite you to encourage friends, colleagues, family and other loved ones to vote for your nominee.

America's Big Citizen of the Year will be recognized this summer during Big Brothers Big Sisters National Conference in Miami, where the winner will also be our special guest at a private Big Celebrity dinner.
