This year’s Big Event was made even more special with the involvement of the University of Phoenix, who has generously partnered with our organization for the last three years to create the First Chance scholarship. The First Chance Sholarship provides 10 complete scholarships (valued at $40,000 each) for Big Brothers Big Sisters staff, volunteers, and Littles and their families. University of Phoenix Campus Director David Fitzgerald was on hand to personally award the scholarships, and we were off to an amazing night! With a fantastic view of the Arizona skyline, an amazing desert night, and an evening filled with amazing stories, everyone walked away knowing that while we can only honor a few individuals at this event, all of our Bigs, Volunteers, Donors and Staff are truly winners in the most important sense of the word!

Celebrating our Past, Present and Future
Thursday, October 22 2009 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona held our 15th annual Big Event at Monterra at Westworld in Scottsdale, Arizona. This event is where we recognize all of the volunteers who volunteer their time, money, and energy into helping us accomplish our mission of creating professionally supported one-on-one relationships between caring adults and kids who need positive role models in their lives; as well as a few of the Donors who help make it all happen.
