BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS OF CENTRAL ARIZONA PARTNERS WITH WALMART TO PRESENT 2010 BOWL FOR KIDS’ SAKE

PHOENIX (March 29, 2010) - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona launched its 2010 Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraising campaign on Saturday March 27th, 2010. Walmart kicked off the campaign with a bowling event for nearly 800 employees, and a check presentation where Market Manager John Tow presented Big Brothers Big Sisters with a check for $100,000.

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is an annual fundraising event where community minded companies form teams, fundraise and hold bowling competitions with their employees. This year’s bowling fundraiser promises to deliver the best results ever, with the title sponsor Walmart hosting bowling events for its employees in Mesa, Avondale, Glendale and Gilbert.

“Walmart strives to help those in need and make a genuine difference in people’s lives,” says John Tow, Walmart market manager. “It is a privilege to be able to help organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona build mentoring relationships that encourage children and young adults to stay in school and away from alcohol and drugs.”

Walmart presented Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona with a $100,000 donation at the Gilbert location. The events also featured Arizona Cardinals Cheerleaders and “Big Red” making special appearances at all locations.

“Walmart’s involvement and support of our agency has truly been amazing this year” says Amanda Crossland, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central AZ’s Vice President of Development. “We’re excited about the level of community spirit and commitment that we’ve seen from Walmart, and these events with their employees were fantastic!”

On behalf of our staff, our "Bigs" and most of all our "Littles"
