Phoenix Icon Tom Ambrose Joins Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona as Executive Director

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona (BBBS) is pleased to announce that Tom Ambrose has joined its management team as Executive Director of the Agency.
Chairman of the Board Tim Riester announced Ambrose’s new position, saying “Tom is an individual of very high stature in the Phoenix business and philanthropic communities. Our board and staff are excited to have Tom join the organization, and we are extremely pleased that someone with Tom’s deep roots in the community has chosen Big Brothers Big Sisters for the next phase in his impressive career.”
Ambrose comes to BBBS following a 37-year career with the Phoenix Suns.Seventeen of those years he spent as Senior Vice President and Executive Director of Suns Charities. In his new role at BBBS, Ambrose will work with other BBBS team members to forge strong relationships with community leaders and companies, and aggressively seek new sources of revenue and partnership to benefit the children mentored by the charity. Tom will join BBBS on Tuesday, June 1st.
“I have been fortunate to have had so many great mentors playing important roles throughout my life and career,” Ambrose said.“Many years ago, I was a Big Brother. It was not only extremely rewarding, but it was also a tremendous learning experience. This is a perfect opportunity for me to help others, both ‘Bigs’ and ‘Littles,’ have that same type of positive experience I enjoyed. It’s time to ‘pay it forward.’”
