Celebrating 70 years of Mentorship with BBBS Success stories!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona is celebrating 70 years of mentorship, empowerment, and inspiration! Today we’re sharing with you the success stories of our Bigs and their Littles!

In March 2016, Little Sister Amina and Big Sister Casey were matched. Casey is consistent, caring, and has exposed Amina to many new and fun things. The pair enjoys going to the art museum, skating, going to sporting events, and going to the movies. Amina and Casey had a great time together when they went to a restaurant where they ate some really good food and learned how to use chopsticks. Casey has been there for all of Amina’s big life moments and is always someone that Amina can count on. Amina will graduate high school this year and Casey will be there to help Amina celebrate!

Little Brother Elias and Big Sister Debbie were matched during the 2024 school year and hit things off immediately! Debbie became a Big Sister in the BBBS program because she felt that she had a lot of life experience to offer a young person through one-on-one mentoring. Elias’s mother enrolled him into the BBBS program because she wanted him to have a mentor who would help him to believe in himself more. Debbie often offers Elias several options for activities to choose from to do together during their match time together which helps Elias to practice decision making and leadership skills. The pair have enjoyed playing board games and making arts & crafts while chatting over lunch. Elias and Debbie look forward to building their friendship as the school year continues!
