A community-led fundraising event is when a business, organization, or individual plans and hosts an event or program to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona (BBBSAZ). Third-party events are amazing because they raise awareness of Big Brothers Big Sisters and our mission, all while raising funds to support our program. These events also help us find new volunteers and supporters for BBBSAZ!
- Give back night at a restaurant: So many restaurants offer give-back nights to benefit nonprofit organizations. Reach out to your favorite eatery, pick a date, then let us and all of your friends and family know! Restaurants usually give a percentage of the proceeds back to BBBSAZ!
- Bake sale or lemonade stand: Love to bake? Have kids and want to get them to get involved in philanthropy? Host a bake sale or lemonade stand, and invite your friends and neighbors to donate!
- Donation drive: Get a group together, go through your dressers and closets, and donate all your unwanted items to BBBSAZ!
- Sports tournament: Love sports? Get your friends together for a friendly game of football, bags, volleyball, etc. Charge a small donation to play to benefit BBBSAZ!
- Own a business? Set out a collection jar or host an event!
Below are some of the third-party events that have been held:
HungryFriend
As an ongoing third-party partnership with HungryFriend. You can easily give back while dining out at your favorite participating restaurants with HungryFriend by using their app. A percentage of your transactions gets donated BBBSAZ.
Global Credit Union
On November 6, 2023 The Arizona Fairway Friends Golf Tournament was hosted by Global Credit Union Foundation. Sponsors, golfers, and vendors who worked together to put together an amazing event that generated $50,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Spin Art
On December 13th and 14th, 2023 Spin Art partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona during the holiday season. Spin Art provided free admission to those who brought in a toy to donate to BBBSAZ.
Level One Arcade Bar
On March 16th and 17th, 2023 the BBBSAZ Young Professional’s Council hosted a St. Patrick’s Day Party at Level One Arcade Bar. A portion of the proceeds was donated to BBBSAZ.
Kendra Scott
In May 2024, Kendra Scott hosted a giveback where 20% of the in-store and online purchases at Kendra Scott at Scottsdale Quarter benefitted BBBSAZ.
Macy’s
During the holidays in 2023, Macy’s partnered with BBBS across the nation in a round-up campaign. Those who participated could round-up in store or donate online.
Nordstrom Rack
During the holidays in 2023, Nordstrom Rack partnered with BBBS nationwide. Those who made a donation online or in-person, Nordstrom Rack doubled the impact by matching donations.
Arizona Diamondbacks
On June 26, 2023, the Arizona Diamondbacks hosted a giveback night, and a portion of each ticket purchased was donated to BBBSAZ.
Arizona Cardinals
Currently, for each pair of tickets purchased through a specific link for the Arizona Cardinals opening day game on September 15th. BBBSAZ will receive 2 tickets for a Match to attend the preseason game on August 10th. Purchase tickets here: https://bit.ly/4buK4O5
