Due to a grant Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona received, we started posting weekly blogs in 2021. Yes, you heard it right we post at least 52 blog posts per year! Blogging is important for our agency as it helps to increase our visibility in the community. By posting weekly blogs, we are more likely to show up in search engines, ultimately driving traffic to our website. With 200 kids on our Wait List (most of them are young men) it is important that we get our need for mentors out to as many people as possible.
The BBBSAZ Development and Marketing team is made up of several people, we all take turns writing blog entries. Other departments within BBBSAZ also help provide content for our blogs. As time has passed, our team collectively has been creative to identify which topics we’d like to share with you, our readers. The blogs we type up do have to have a minimum word count. Can you guess how many words our blogs need to be? Once a team member has typed up a blog, the blog is then reviewed by other members of the team to edit for grammar and/or changes. Blog edits are then finalized and a picture or graphic is added before the new blog is posted on our website. Our team continues to work hard and brainstorm ideas that are relevant to our community of BBBSAZ supporters.
Do you have a blog idea?? Maybe you and your Little just had an amazing outing that you think other Bigs might be interested in? Maybe you’d like to share your match story or the change you’ve seen in your Little since being matched? We are very interested in having guest authors help us in providing fresh and exciting blog content for our followers. Please reach out to Jessica Whitney, VP of Development and Marketing for more info: jwhitney@bbbsaz.org.
Blogging helps us ensure that our supporters stay up to date on the important work we are doing here at BBBSAZ. Be sure to check out our blog weekly here. And – If you LOVE our content – please be sure to Like and Share!!
