BBBS Success Stories

Our mission here at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona is to “create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth” and our vision is for “all youth achieve their full potential.” Today we’re sharing with you the success stories of our Bigs and their Littles.

Rosemary’s family enrolled her into the BBBS program because they wanted her to have a mentor who would help her to believe in herself more. One of the reasons why Sandra became a Big Sister was because she wanted to get more involved by helping youth in the community. In February 2023, Little Sister Rosemary and Big Sister Sandra were matched. The pair enjoys eating lunch together, discussing different topics, playing different board games, coloring, and drawing. During their match time together, Rosemary and Sandra share smiles and laughter with one another. Sandra shows her support for Rosemary by being a listening ear and since being matched, Rosemary has become more comfortable confiding in Sandra about what’s going on in her life. Sandra also helps Rosemary with her goal of planning for her future.

Joseph’s family enrolled him into the BBBS program because they wanted him to have a Big who would help guide him with writing skills. One of the reasons Mason became a Big Brother is because he wanted to help youth in the community by being a mentor for them. In March 2023, Little Brother Joseph and Big Brother Mason were matched. The pair enjoys playing different sports, making things together like paper airplanes, and slime making. Since being matched, Joseph and Mason have shared several laughs and many meaningful chats with one another. Along with sharing common interests with one another, Joseph and Mason also like to play board games together. Mason also helps Joseph with his goal of exploring fun educational activities.
