As is the tradition this time of year, we reflect on what we’re thankful for. We are filled with gratitude for this incredible community — for the Bigs and Littles who show up for each other every day, for the parents and caregivers who trust us with their children, and for you, our supporters.
As Thanksgiving approaches and 2024 winds down, we are reminded of all we’ve accomplished together. This past fiscal year, 282 kids were matched with a Big who was specifically chosen for them. Research consistently shows that having a supportive adult in a child’s life is one of the most critical success factors in building resilience. Your support is invaluable, and we would not have been able to serve these Littles without you!
One unique offering your generosity supports is our open house events. Every other Saturday, the BBBSAZ office transforms into a safe space for matches—a space for Bigs and Littles to bond through crafts, games, or valuable workshops. We are thankful for our supporters who make these events special and exciting for our Littles, like Salad and Go for providing a Healthy Livin’ Workshop. This safe, supportive time has proven transformational for our Littles, all thanks to supporters like you.
To continue to reach even more youth in the new year, we need your help. During this season of giving, your support can be even more impactful through the Arizona State Charitable Tax Credit. By contributing up to $470 for individuals or $938 for couples, you not only make a meaningful difference in the lives of local youth but also could receive a dollar-for-dollar reduction on your Arizona state taxes.
To everyone in the BBBSAZ community who continues to show up, regardless of challenges, thank you for empowering young people to plan for a brighter future with a mentor whose impact endures for a lifetime.
