We are thrilled to announce that after an extensive search and multiple panel interviews, we have selected Steve Conrad as the new Vice President of Development for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona! Steve officially joined our team in the beginning of January.
Throughout the selection process, we focused on two key priorities: culture and capability. Steve’s impressive background in fundraising, strategic development, and securing major gifts, grants, and individual giving speaks to his expertise. However, what truly set him apart was his passion for our mission, his enthusiasm for our vision, and his contagious positive energy.
A Visionary Leader
Steve is an innovator, bringing fresh ideas, a willingness to explore new approaches, and a clear vision to diversify our funding streams and generate new revenue. His strategic mindset aligns seamlessly with the direction we are taking as an organization, and we are confident that his leadership will inspire and energize our entire team.
Meet Steve Conrad
With over 22 years of experience in nonprofit development in Arizona, Steve has dedicated his career to making a lasting impact. He began his development journey at The New Foundation (now A New Leaf) and later served as Director of Development and Government Affairs for the Lodestar Day Resource Center and the Human Services Campus, working to end homelessness for veterans, adults, and children in Arizona. In recognition of his contributions, President Obama honored Steve in 2012 for his work in ending veteran homelessness.
Steve has also lent his expertise as a grant writer for Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona and most recently served at Valley of the Sun YMCA, where he successfully built a robust grants program and trained others in fundraising and development strategies at national YMCA conferences.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Steve is a passionate advocate for the community and a proud native of Phoenix. He enjoys staying active—whether it’s playing pickleball, riding ATVs, or sharing his love for music and dance.
Looking Ahead
We are incredibly excited about the leadership, innovation, and energy Steve will bring to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona. His experience, combined with his unwavering commitment to our mission, makes him the perfect addition to our team. Please join us in giving Steve a warm welcome as he steps into this vital role!
